Rosa Alba (white rose) was composed over the course of a week in Spring 2019. Despite being in a state of anxiety and worry during that week, the piece seemed to write itself and blossom from my otherwise cluttered mind. In 2014 I wrote another piece - Rosa Xanthina for solo marimba - in a similar manner, which inspired the title.
