The music of Columbus, OH native Zach Koors seeks to bridge the classic with the contemporary using a unique mixture of fresh harmony, funk and jazz influences, inviting lyricism and a strong rhythmic background. Koors' music has been performed at the National Flute Association Convention (2017) in Minneapolis, at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, at Belmont University in Nashville and at the University of Arizona in Tuscon, among many others. As a percussionist, Koors performs in piano and percussion duo, /rhythmos, with fellow composer John Huenemann. He also performs with groups such as the Westerville Symphony Orchestra, The McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra, and the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra.
As an educator, Koors teaches a private studio of 40 percussion, drumset, and piano students from around the Columbus area.
